Find your future in finance.
As a finance major, you’ll graduate with a comprehensive understanding of financial concepts and strategies that are crucial in both personal finance management and professional finance careers. A degree in finance is versatile, and will prepare you to make informed financial decisions, manage investments, and contribute to the financial well-being of individuals and organizations.
Earn your degree in finance from one of the most innovative Christian colleges in Texas. Our finance major is well-known for producing quality financial analysts and planners, and our emphasis on investment planning has helped our graduates land internships and jobs at some of the most elite financial institutions in Texas.
The finance degree at HSU trains you in the fundamental knowledge and skills you need to be effective in the financial industry, from how to value assets and manage a portfolio to tackling complex mergers and acquisitions. Graduates are prepared to enjoy lucrative careers in financial planning and analysis for individual and business clients, and many go on to pursue MBAs within a few months of graduation.
Create New Opportunities With a Minor in Wealth Management
In response to growing demand for financial managers and planners, HSU now offers a minor in wealth management for finance students. Our faculty have found that employers are increasingly seeking candidates with professional certification in investments in addition to an academic background in finance.
Adding the wealth management minor to your finance degree allows you to graduate with a Level I certification as a financial analyst, making you much more competitive for financial planning jobs. The program offers internship opportunities and enjoys support from the Texas Bankers Association and chief personnel at First Financial Trust.

“I fell in love with the Hardin-Simmons community and felt right at home my freshman year, so much so that I added finance as a second major just so I could stay all four years instead of graduating early. The Kelley College of Business finance classes were challenging and stimulating, which is what I was looking for in an education. What made my education at HSU different and that I appreciated the most, was that professors were able to learn my name and I was able to connect and build relationships with them during my time at HSU.”
